Police in Georgia’s Adjara region have arrested five Turkish nationals on charges of intentional infliction of bodily injury and group hooliganism, the Interior Ministry announced on Saturday.

The statement reads officers of the Adjara Police Department detained the suspects following a series of coordinated investigative and search operations.

The offenses are punishable by up to seven years in prison.

The investigation found that one of the detainees injured two Turkish citizens with a cold weapon in a restaurant in the Khelvachauri municipality

The victims sustained multiple injuries and were transported to a hospital, where they received medical treatment, the Ministry said.

The other four suspects are accused of violating public order, verbally insulting patrons and damaging property at the same restaurant.
