Officers of the Adjara Police Department under Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested two citizens of the Republic of Turkey - A.Ch., born in 1998, and E.S., born in 1988 - on charges of illegal, group possession of psychotropic substances in particularly large quantities.

According to the Ministry, the offense carries a penalty of up to 12 years in prison.

The suspects were detained while traveling by car on the Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze highway. During the search of the vehicle and their personal belongings, police seized a significant quantity of capsules containing the psychotropic substance pregabalin, which has been submitted as evidence.
