Restoration works on the fire-damaged section of the Anaklia-Ganmukhuri pedestrian bridge in western Georgia have been completed.
Located on the Black Sea coast and spanning the Enguri River, the bridge links the coastal resort town of Anaklia with the neighbouring village of Ganmukhuri.
The repair project included the replacement of the bridge’s damaged wooden decking as well as sections of its glass railings that were affected by the blaze.
Part of the bridge’s wooden surface and railing sustained damage during a fire that broke out on the structure earlier. Emergency services managed to extinguish the fire promptly, preventing more extensive damage.
Following the completion of the restoration works, the affected section of the bridge has been fully repaired and returned to its original condition.
