Legal Affairs Committee Chairman Archil Gorduladze said a newly published European Commission study showed that Georgia ranks among Europe’s top five countries for public trust in government.
He stressed the findings contradicted what he described as repeated attempts by EU officials to distinguish between the Georgian government and the Georgian public.
“According to their own study, it turned out that the Georgian people trust the Georgian government,” Gorduladze said, referring to the survey.
According to figures published by the World Bank as part of its Worldwide Governance Indicators, Georgia recorded a 54.1% government-trust score in the 2025 assessment, placing it fifth among the European countries covered. The reported top five were Luxembourg, Denmark, Montenegro, Austria and Georgia. In the previous 2024 assessment, Georgia ranked eighth.
Gorduladze claimed the results demonstrated that studies free from what he called political considerations pointed to Georgia’s progress.
