Three Turkish nationals wanted by Interpol arrested in Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi

Police in Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi have detained three Turkish nationals who were wanted under Interpol red notices, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on Saturday.

The body added officers from the Adjara Police Department arrested the suspects during separate operations following investigative and intelligence measures.

Turkish authorities had been seeking M.T. on charges of premeditated murder, O.U. for robbery and unlawful deprivation of liberty and I.K. for alleged involvement in the sale and distribution of narcotics or stimulants.

The Ministry noted that all three suspects entered Georgia before the red notices were issued.

Extradition procedures are now underway in accordance with Georgian law.
