Interpol-wanted murder suspect arrested in Batumi

A foreign national wanted by Interpol on a Red Notice has been arrested in Batumi over an intentional killing in Turkey, Georgia's Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.

The suspect was wanted internationally at the request of Turkish law enforcement authorities in connection with a murder committed in Turkey, the ministry said.

Officers from the Adjara Main Division of the Interior Ministry's Central Criminal Police Department arrested the suspect in Batumi following investigative measures.

Extradition proceedings against the detainee are now under way in accordance with Georgian law.
