Ukrainian National Wanted on Interpol Red Notice Arrested in Georgia’s Batumi

Georgian police have arrested a Ukrainian national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice in the Black Sea city of Batumi, the country’s Interior Ministry said.

The arrest was carried out in a joint operation by officers from the Interior Ministry’s Central Criminal Police Department and the Adjara regional police.

According to the ministry, the individual was wanted at the request of Swiss law enforcement authorities in connection with a murder charge.

Following investigative measures, Georgian law enforcement officers located and arrested the wanted individual in Batumi.

Extradition proceedings against the detainee are now underway in accordance with Georgian law, the ministry said.
