Woman killed after being hit by train near Batumi Botanical Garden

A woman has been killed after being hit by a train near the entrance to Batumi Botanical Garden, Georgian authorities said.

The woman died at the scene.

Law enforcement officers are currently working at the site, while further details about the incident have not yet been released.

Georgia's Interior Ministry has launched an investigation under Article 275 of the Criminal Code, concerning violations of railway traffic safety or operating rules.
