Man shot dead in Georgian city of Batumi

A man was shot and killed in Georgia’s Black Sea resort city of Batumi on Sunday.

The shooting occurred in the so-called Boni settlement, near the city's central market, where the victim was reportedly shot multiple times with a firearm.

The injured man was rushed to a medical facility but died shortly after being admitted.

Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Articles 108 and 236 of the Criminal Code, covering premeditated murder and the illegal purchase, possession and carrying of a firearm.
