Georgia’s Black Sea resort city of Batumi officially opened its 2026 tourist season with the launch of the Summer Festival near the city's Alphabet Tower, bringing together residents and visitors for a weekend of cultural, entertainment and tourism-related events.
The Adjara Government on Sunday said the festival features exhibition and sales spaces, children's entertainment areas, lounge zones and live music performances. Around 150 entrepreneurs are showcasing their products at the event.
Chair of the Government of Adjara Zurab Pataradze attended the opening ceremony with his family and congratulated locals and visitors on the start of the summer season. He also toured the festival grounds and exhibition spaces.
The event was also attended by Chair of the Supreme Council of Adjara Tsotne Ananidze, members of the Georgian Parliament and the Supreme Council of Adjara, Batumi Mayor Archil Chikovani, as well as representatives of the regional government and local authorities.
The festival area has been decorated with summer and seaside-themed installations and includes more than 10 lounge and café-bar spaces. Organisers have also arranged dedicated children's zones featuring entertainment programs led by animators.
The Summer Festival will continue over two days, offering visitors a range of activities and concerts featuring local and invited musical bands.
