Covid daily cases at 15,644 in Georgia, 171, 873 remain infected

Georgia has reported 15,644 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, while 171,873 remain infected with the virus as of now.

52,912 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 32,295 rapid  tests and 20,617 PCR tests.

The total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country in February 20020 is 1,511,800.

Positivity rate as of yesterday is 29.57%, 32.01% in the last 14 days and 30.99% in the last seven days.

46 individuals died from the virus in the past 24 hours. A total of 15,729 people have died from the virus in the country since April 2020.

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions are as follows: Tbilisi – 7,574 cases, Adjara – 1,109, Imereti – 2,342, Kvemo Kartli – 865, Shida Kartli – 946,Guria – 447, Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 914, Kakheti – 866, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 334, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 174, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 73.

5,876 people are placed in hospitals.
