Covid daily cases surge to 5,596 in Georgia

Georgia has reported 5,596 new cases of coronavirus of 59,109 tests, 2,946 recoveries and 47 deaths in the past 24 hours. 

The new strain of coronavirus dubbed as Omicron is replacing the Delta variant in Georgia, accounting for more than 40 percent of new infections. 

40,205 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. 

More than 4,000 individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of now, while others remain at home under the remote monitoring of doctors.
