Court sentences two men to life in prison for killing two in Mtskheta municipality

The Mtskheta District Court has sentenced two men to life imprisonment after finding them guilty of the intentional murder of two people under aggravating circumstances and the illegal acquisition, possession and carrying of firearms and ammunition, the Prosecutor’s Office said.

Evidence examined during the trial established that on January 24 this year, in the village of Mukhrani, Mtskheta municipality, the defendants fired several shots at two people with firearms, allegedly motivated by revenge, and fled the scene.

Both victims died at the scene from their injuries. The prosecution said the shooting also endangered the lives and health of other people who were present at the location.

The court fully accepted the evidence presented by the prosecution, found both defendants guilty and imposed life imprisonment on each of them, the Prosecutor’s Office said.
