Zugdidi’s newly elected mayor, Dato Kodua, has inspected ongoing road infrastructure works on Perveli Maisi (First of May) Street, marking the beginning of a broader rehabilitation program across the city.

Kodua on Tuesday said the municipality plans to renovate all remaining streets and to develop a comprehensive drainage system project aimed at resolving flooding issues caused by heavy rainfall.

“We have begun implementing our election program, one of the key components of which is improving road infrastructure,” Kodua said during his visit. “The road on Perveli Maisi Street was in particularly poor condition, and residents raised this issue during our recent meetings. We will be very active in this direction.”

The mayor stressed that speed and quality control will be the main priorities during his term.

“Every project carried out in Zugdidi will be completed on time and to high standards. I personally intend to oversee each one,” he added.

Kodua also addressed residents, promising close cooperation with the community.

“Dear citizens of Zugdidi, together we will achieve a great deal for our city. I promise that my words will always be followed by action.”
