David Solomonia, Georgia’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, has resigned from his post, citing a loss of hope in influencing the country’s EU integration process. His resignation was shared publicly by his sister, Nino Solomonia, via social media.

“Over three decades in Georgia’s diplomatic service, the majority of my work has been dedicated to advancing our country’s EU integration. It has been a profound privilege to align my professional duties with my personal convictions. I fulfilled my responsibilities diligently as long as I believed I could have even a minimal impact on these processes.

Today, that hope is gone,” Solomonia stated in his resignation letter.
In his statement, Solomonia condemned all forms of violence and announced his decision to step down as Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

A day before Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Bulgaria Otar Berdzenishvili also resigned.
