Arrested former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has called on Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko to “think better” as “you still have time to get out of the situation”, telling him that your “handsome son needs free and healthy father”.
Saakashvili’s comment , who was arrested in Tbilisi last October, came on the heels of recent visit of Lukashenko to Georgia’s Russian-controlled Abkhazia region, receiving the backlash from Tbilisi and the international community for the move on the background of Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
"Now you still have a chance to get out of this situation. If you recognize Abkhazia and, especially, if another attempt to invade Ukraine takes place from your territory, you, as a smart man, should understand that this will be the end for you," Saakashvili said.
"I have seen photos of Nikolashka [Lukashenko's son], he is a very handsome boy. Think about the fact that he needs a healthy and free father", he added.
Saakashvili, who is now serving his six-year term for abuse of authority while in office, holds Ukrainian citizenship and chaired the executive committee of the Ukrainian National Reforms Council before being arrested in Tbilisi after eight years in self-imposed political exile.
