Billionaire Kolomoyskyy’s home searched in Ukraine

Ukraine's State Security Service and Bureau of Economic Security searched the home of billionaire businessman Ihor Kolomoyskyy on Wednesday, Ukrainian media reported, citing an official on condition of anonymity.

The search was reportedly related to the investigation of possible offenses in the companies Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta, also about wasting a large amount of oil products and evading large taxes, Ukrainskaya Pravda said.

The businessman previously owned both companies, but in November 2022 the companies were nationalized.

Kolomoyskyy is one of the richest persons in Ukraine. He is the former governor of Dnepropetrovsk region. In 2020, he was charged in the US with large-scale bank fraud.

His Ukrainian citizenship was revoked by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last year.
