Hungarian PM does not see Putin as war criminal

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Tuesday said he did not see Russian president Vladimir Putin as a “war criminal” due to Mosvow’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.

"No. Not for me," he told the journalists, claiming the issue could be discussed only after the completion of the conflict.

“We have to convince those who are part of the conflict to sit at the negotiating table. To invite them to the table and say, 'Come to the table, I will hold you,' is not a good idea, so it is completely inappropriate to talk about it now," Orban said.

The International Criminal Court in March issued an arrest warrant for Putin for war crimes because of his alleged involvement in the abduction of Ukrainian children during the conflict.

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, with hostilities still in progress.
