Action plan for meeting conditions for EU integration sent to European Commission - Ambassador

Paweł Herczyński, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, on Tuesday said the action plan for meeting conditions for Georgia’s further integration to the bloc, has been sent to the European Commission.

“I can confirm that the action plan, which was approved by the Government of Georgia [on Monday], has already been sent to the European Commission”, said the diplomat and added “as I  have openly and honestly said many times, I am an optimist, that's why I am in Georgia, I try to be a part of Georgian success”.

Following the Commission's positive recommendation to the Council on November 8, the latter has been scheduled in mid-December to decide on the country’s status.

The action plan approved by the Georgian Government covers the conditions outlined by the Commission in June 2022 for granting Georgia the bloc’s candidacy and in November, for opening accession talks with Tbilisi if it obtains candidacy.
