Ruling party official hails PM designate’s “managerial skills”

Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Friday hailed “managerial skills” of Irakli Kobakhidze, the party’s nominee for premiership, claiming He had “practically built the party structures from scratch and created a very strong mechanism of these structures”.

In his comments, Mdinaradze rejected the claims Kobakhidze, who earlier served as the Parliament Speaker of Georgia, lacked managerial skills for the new position.

Kobakhidze was on Thursday nominated for the PM’s post, while outgoing PM Irakli Garibashvili as the new chair of the GD ahead of this year’s parliamentary elections.

The Parliament has been scheduled to vote on a new Cabinet next week, with only the defence minister expected to quit the post and assume a new position as the country’s new ambassador to NATO.
