The Georgian Public Registry has revoked the registration of the controversial Conservative Movement, also known as Alt-Info, which is known for its pro-Russian, far-right stance. The decision, announced on Monday, follows a request from the anti-corruption bureau to investigate the legality of the party's registration ahead of the October general elections.

The investigation uncovered several irregularities within the movement. These included Giorgi Kardava, purportedly elected as the general secretary during a congress, failing to sign the submitted statement. 

Additionally, the registration charter bore the signature of only the congress's chairman, and crucial information, such as ID card numbers of members, was missing from the submitted list.

Zura Makharadze, a leader within the movement, expressed dismay over the decision, stating, "Today, when the chairman of the Central Election Commission was supposed to sign the registration of our party in the elections, we received information from them that the public registry canceled the party."
