Georgia to participate in NATO jubilee summit in Washington

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia on Friday announced that Georgia would participate in the NATO jubilee Summit, scheduled to take place from July 9-11 in Washington, D.C.

The Georgian delegation will be led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili.

"Minister Darchiashvili will take part in the meeting of foreign ministers scheduled for July 10, in the format of partner countries. He will also attend other events planned within the summit and hold bilateral meetings. It should be noted that according to the summit program, partner countries are to participate at the level of foreign ministers, hence the invitation extended to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia," the body said.

Washington earlier confirmed the invitation of Georgian FM, following it imposed sanctions on unspecified Georgian officials for the adoption of the foreign influence transparency law.
