Georgia’s Internally Displaced Persons, Eco-Migrants and Livelihood Agency will purchase residential homes for more than 500 internally displaced families across the country, the body said on Saturday.
The Agency has already published a list of families whose resettlement applications received positive decisions from the commission reviewing issues related to internally displaced persons.
The selected families will be given six months to choose homes themselves in any region of Georgia and submit the properties to the Agency for approval.
The body added the home purchase programme for displaced families has significantly expanded in recent years alongside the construction of new residential complexes.
This year alone, the Agency has already purchased homes for 1,050 displaced families.
Officials said the process of providing housing for internally displaced families will continue even more actively in the future.
