Georgian Dream’s regional secretary, Dimitri Samkharadze, has accused opposition leaders of “kneeling before” British, German and French ambassadors for help, claiming they are turning to foreign diplomats rather than seeking support from the Georgian people.
“The opposition cannot turn to its own people for help and instead kneels before the British, German and French ambassadors, pleading, ‘Save us,’” Samkharadze wrote on social media on Tuesday.
He said the meeting demonstrated the opposition’s “servile behaviour” and undermined its claims to represent and respect the Georgian people.
Samkharadze accused opposition forces of serving foreign interests and acting against Georgia’s interests, alleging that they sought to drag the country into war and undermine the state.
He also claimed that the opposition was trying to impose itself on the public through tactics directed by foreign actors, despite the “lack of public support.”
“The chance is zero per cent. You are a disgrace, you mankurts,” he wrote, using a derogatory term for people portrayed as having lost their identity or loyalty.
