Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia congratulates Donald Trump on presidency

The Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II has congratulated Donald Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States.

In a letter addressed to the newly inaugurated President, the Patriarch expressed high hopes not only for the United States but for the global community under Trump’s leadership.

’’Although in your inaugural speech you primarly emphasized the strengthening of your country, everybody hopes that successful implementation of the set goals will generally bring positive changes and overcome many serious challenges,” the letter reads.

The Patriarch emphasized the significance of Trump’s commitment to traditional values rooted in Christian principles, as well as his efforts to ensure peace on earth. The Patriarch noted the importance of aligning governance with divine service, referencing scripture: “Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust” (Psalm 40:4).

Closing the letter, the Patriarch offered blessings to President Trump, his family, his administration, and the American people, extending wishes for peace and prosperity to the world.
