Embassy says there are 20,000 Ukrainians in Georgia

Andrey Kasyanov, the Charge d’Affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, says that  there are about 20,000 Ukrainians in Georgia as of now who had fled the country due to the war. 

 

He said today that 58 Ukrainian children are already studying in Georgian schools and the parents of about 50 children have applied for this. 

 

Kasyanov stated that the Ukrainian embassy is working closely with the Georgian government to provide ‘systematic assistance and support to Ukrainians living in Georgia.’ 

 

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.

 

Ukrainian cities are being intensively bombed by Russians. 

 

More than 3.5 million people have been  forced to leave the country.
