Former MP Mechiauri dies of Covid

Former MP and ex-mayor of Tianeti Tamaz Mechiauri has died from coronavirus, his son has announced earlier today. 

He was placed in Tbilisi first University Clinic several days ago. 

Mechiauri was an MP of the ruling Georgian Dream party between 2012 and 2016, in the eighth convocation of the state legislature. 

He left the Georgian Dream in 2016 due to controversies and founded a party For United Georgia.
