Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced the arrest of a 49-year-old man, identified as V.T., on charges of intentional murder. The suspect, who has a prior criminal record, was detained in the village of Tirdznisi, in Gori Municipality, following swift police action.

According to investigators, the incident occurred during a domestic conflict, when V.T. allegedly stabbed the victim, L.M., multiple times in the chest with a bladed weapon inside the victim’s home. L.M. died at the scene from the sustained injuries.

Police apprehended the suspect shortly after the crime and seized the murder weapon — a knife — as evidence.

The investigation is being conducted under Article 108 of Georgia’s Criminal Code, which deals with intentional homicide and carries a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
