The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has voiced serious concern over escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, highlighting the growing threat to regional and global security.
"We are deeply concerned by the rising tensions in the Middle East, posing threats to regional security. We strongly emphasize the importance of diplomatic efforts to achieve de-escalation and ensure stability," the ministry said in a statement posted on social media.
The statement comes as hostilities between Iran and Israel escalate dramatically. According to Israeli authorities, three people have been killed and dozens injured in Iran’s recent missile strikes on Israeli territory. In retaliation, Israel launched a series of airstrikes across Iran, reportedly killing at least 78 people and injuring more than 300, the majority of whom are civilians, according to Iranian sources.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant condemned Iran’s missile strikes, accusing Tehran of crossing a "red line" by targeting civilian areas. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that "more is on the way," signaling a potential continuation of Israeli military action.
Meanwhile, Iran vowed a "crushing response" to Israel’s strikes and said it would intensify its retaliatory efforts, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
