Georgia records 4,775 new cases of Covid of 18,351 tests

Georgia has confirmed 4,775 daily cases of coronavirus out of the 18,351 tests on the weekend. 

 The total number of confirmed cases detected in the country since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in February 2020  is at 1, 553, 668.

The daily positivity rate as of yesterday is 26.02%, for the last 14 days – 31.28% and for the past seven days – 29.97%.

19,242 people recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours, while the total number of people recovered increased to 1,407,776.

32 new deaths were reported in the last  24 hours. A total of 15,888 people have died from the virus in Georgia since April 2020. 

The new cases for Tbilisi and regions are as follows: 

Tbilisi – 2,617 cases, 

Adjara – 378, 

Imereti – 601, 

Kvemo Kartli – 219, 

Shida Kartli – 158, 

Guria – 165, 

Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti – 274, 

Kakheti – 245, 

Mtskheta- Mtianeti – 47, 

Samtskhe-Javakheti – 51, 

Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti – 20.

129,978 individuals remain infected with coronavirus, mostly with the Omicron strain, as of now. 

Only 5,585 people are placed in hospitals.
