Georgia reports 7,947 new cases of Covid

Georgia has reported 7,947 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, out of 35,082 tests. 

5,550 individuals have recovered and 31 died from the virus in the reported period. 

Daily infections are surging in the country as Omicron strain is spreading rapidly. 

Georgian health officials predict that daily infections will further increase. 

They call on the public to receive the coronavirus vaccine and observe general guidelines.
