The National Bank of Georgia has reported the sale of 93 20-gram gold bars over a two-day period, with the sale commenced on Monday.

One kg gold bars are also available for purchase, but only one was bought, the bank told the press.

As of December 6, the prices are 183,993 GEL for a 1 kg gold bar and 3,680 GEL for a 20 gr gold bar.

The National Bank stated the total income from these sales exceeded 526,000 GEL.

The increased demand for gold is attributed to rising global inflation and heightened geopolitical risks.

The National Bank highlighted that all bars have unique numbers and were minted at the Royal Mint of Great Britain.
