Georgia’s Parliament has placed a ceiling on the number of military personnel within the country’s defense forces for 2024.
The resolution, officially titled “On Approving the Number of Defense Forces of Georgia,” received support with 79 votes in favor.
Starting next year, the total strength of Georgia’s defense forces will be limited to no more than 37,000 military personnel.
The decision includes exemptions for certain categories of personnel.
Those called up to serve in the reserve forces of the Defense Forces and individuals serving in temporary roles within the Ministry of Defense will not be counted within the specified limit.
