Lettuce leaves producer company GDB in the Lagodekhi region of eastern Georgia  is looking for new markets as it was scheduled to sell 200 tons of lettuce leaves to McDonalds in Russia in the spring.

McDonalds has closed more than 800 restaurants in Russia following the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Georgian company will harvest the lettuce leaves, with a cost of one kilogram ranging between 8-10 GEL, in April and the production must be sold in a month’s time.

The company was founded back in 2021 and has harvested the lettuce leaves twice so far.
