The Georgian government has prolonged coronavirus restrictions and stated earlier today that public transport in all big cities will not resume operations until September 13, while all education facilities around the country will offer online studies between September 15 and October 4.

Kindergartens around the country, both public and private, will not work at least until October 4.

The fate of the public transport and in-person studies will be dependent on whether the rate of new Covid-19 infections will decrease.

Georgia has reported 4,778 new cases of coronavirus, 4,753 recoveries and 79 deaths in the past 24 hours.

48,963 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

The Georgian government expects that the spread of the virus will be ‘significantly decreased’ starting October.
