Georgian health officials warn of fifth wave of coronavirus

Georgian health officials say that the country is on the verge of the fifth wave of coronavirus, urging people, especially parents, to receive the coronavirus vaccine. 

 

The country has reported 4,775 new cases of coronavirus, 1,623 recoveries and 37 deaths in the past 24 hours, while 27,031 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia.

Only 6,817 individuals have received the coronavirus vaccine in the past 24 hours. 

 

In-person studies resumed in the country earlier this month and the highest figure of daily infections was recorded in the past 24 hours. 

 

1,882,118 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country since March 2021, of which  879,630 have been completely vaccinated.

 

55 of 180 kindergartners have already been closed in the country due to coronavirus cases. 

Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines are available in the country.
