Georgian MFA: through gov’t efforts 1,600 Georgians return from war-torn Ukraine

The Georgian Foreign Ministry says that  up to 1,600 Georgian citizens have returned to Georgia from Ukraine via various countries that were organized by the Georgian government.

 

The ministry stated that on Saturday alone about 40 Georgian citizens returned to Georgia via Romania.

 

“Through the efforts of the Georgian government, the process of organized return of Georgian citizens evacuated from Ukraine is in progress,” said the ministry.

 

The ministry stated that Georgian embassies in the countries near to Ukraine are ensuring all necessary support for the country’s citizens who had been evacuated from Ukraine.

 

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
