Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, and Irakli Kobakhidze, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Georgia, on Wednesday summarized Georgia’s EU accession pace in a Brussels meeting.

The PM thanked Metsola for her “devoted support” of Georgia’s EU aspirations and the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Officials also reviewed implemented and ongoing measures to “ensure” Georgia’s EU integration, further discussed security challenges in the region and around the world, and highlighted the situation in the Russian-occupied territories of Georgia.

The PM left a commemorative note in the guest book of the EU parliament. Kobakhidze continues to meet with EU and NATO officials in Brussels.
