Georgian PM leaves for Turkey

Georgian prime minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday left for Turkey with his delegation, the government administration said. 

 

The PM is scheduled to meet with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and visit the city of Antakya, in Hatay Province, which was worst-affected by a devastating quake earlier this month. 

 

While in the location, the head of the Georgian government will meet the country’s rescuers ensuring aid in search and rescue operations to the neighboring state following the disaster that killed more than 41,000 in Turkey and about 5,800 in Syria. 

 

Garibahsvili’s delegation includes Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri, Head of the State Security Service Grigol Liluashvili, Head of Government Administration Revaz Javelidze and Head of Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Teimuraz Mgebrishvili.
