Georgian police arrest suspect for murder of Australian Shanae Brooke Edwards

Georgian police have arrested a 33-year-old Georgian citizen living in capital Tbilisi for alleged intentional homicide of Australian citizen Shanae Brooke Edwards in Tbilisi on July 30. 

The Georgian Interior Ministry says that the DNA samples seized from the scene match. 

“All the evidence, including DNA samples prove R.M. murdered Shanae Brooke Edwards,” said the ministry earlier today. 

The ministry says that hundreds of investigative actions have been carried out and more than 200 individuals have been questioned to find the suspect. 

Shanae Brooke Edwards,who was working as an English language teacher in Tbilisi, went missing on July 30 while hiking near Mtatsminda park. 

Her body was found the next day.
