The Public Defender’s Office highlighted the participation of Ioseliani in a high-level international conference on human rights in Kyiv, organized within the framework of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Human Rights.

Key figures, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Dunja Mijatovic, and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Croatia, Tena Šimonović, delivered welcome addresses to the participants via video messages.

During the meeting, discussions spanned various topics, including the ongoing war in Ukraine, humanitarian projects, and the impact of human rights protection in overcoming dictatorships. The conference delved into challenges related to the reconstruction of the country in the aftermath of the war, emphasizing historical context and prospects for future infrastructural development in the returned territories.

Moreover, the participants addressed the necessity for effective security guarantees rooted in justice, encompassing crime documentation, accountability, and the rule of law.
