Georgia’s ruling party, Georgian Dream, received ₾6.6 million in donations during the first six months of 2025 - accounting for 87% of all political party contributions in the country - according to a new report by Transparency International Georgia, which warned the figures raised concerns over potential systemic corruption.

In total, Georgian parties received ₾7.59 million in donations between January and June, with ₾6.57 million going to Georgian Dream - more than six times the combined amount received by all other parties.

The watchdog highlighted that over ₾2.5 million - more than a third of the ruling party's total - came from the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in just three months following the resignation of regional leader Tornike Rizhvadze, raising further questions about the origins and motivations behind the funding.

Transparency International said the donation patterns “may indicate involvement in systemic corruption”.
