Aleksandre Kartozia has been appointed Georgia’s extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday.

Kartozia brings extensive experience in public service, having previously served as Minister of Education and as Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.

He has also held prominent academic positions at Georgia State University and worked as a researcher and lecturer at leading universities in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Bremen.

As a scholar and translator, Kartozia has contributed significantly to strengthening German-Georgian cultural relations. In 2022, he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
