The German Embassy in Georgia issued a statement highlighting the possibility of peaceful revolution, citing the fall of the Berlin Wall as an enduring example.

“A peaceful revolution is possible. The fall of the Berlin Wall is proof of this. For decades, the German Democratic Republic kept its citizens locked in a system of oppression and violence. Yet, the citizens of the GDR, with courage and a desire to determine their own destiny and live in freedom, achieved the wall’s demolition. In doing so, they laid the foundation, alongside people of Central and Eastern Europe, for a unified Germany and a free, united Europe,” the statement read.

The embassy’s message further emphasized that “freedom does not come on its own, we must fight for it. This was true then, and it remains true today, here and across the world.”
