Germany has announced a new package of military support for Ukraine, including additional air defense systems, drones, armored vehicles, and ammunition, as the war with Russia continues into its third year.

Speaking in Brussels, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed that Berlin will supply Kyiv with four more IRIS-T surface-to-air missile systems and 30 additional guided missiles for the Patriot system. The latest tranche of military aid is part of Germany’s broader commitment of €11 billion in support for Ukraine through 2029.
According to Pistorius, the package will include:

Four IRIS-T air defense systems and 300 accompanying guided missiles

30 Patriot guided missiles

300 reconnaissance drones

120 man-portable air defense systems (ManPADS)

25 Marder infantry fighting vehicles

15 Leopard 1A5 main battle tanks

14 artillery systems

100 ground surveillance radars

100,000 rounds of artillery ammunition

The announcement comes as representatives from roughly 50 countries gather in Brussels for a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. The summit, co-chaired by the defence ministers of Germany and the United Kingdom, aims to coordinate continued military support for Ukraine amid persistent Russian attacks.
