Political analyst Gia Khukhashvili on Thursday criticised Georgia’s “diminished international role,” saying the country “is no longer treated as a serious actor” on the global stage.

“Georgia is nowhere; we are no longer being invited anywhere. Why? Because we are no longer a subject. Everyone thinks, why talk to the postman? Everyone knows that Kobakhidze is the postman,” Khukhashvili said, referring to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s perceived lack of independent decision-making.

He added that foreign powers “see Georgia as closely aligned with Russia”.
