“Invite OSCE/ODIHR,” they say. So what if they don’t usually observe local elections? – This is how MP Giorgi Chakvetadze of the parliamentary majority responded to the opposition’s demand to invite an OSCE/ODIHR observation mission for the upcoming local self-government elections.

He noted that while making this demand, the opposition refuses to acknowledge OSCE/ODIHR’s assessment of the 2024 parliamentary elections.

“‘Invite OSCE/ODIHR,’ they say.

So what if they don’t usually observe local elections?

So what if we don’t recognize their report on the parliamentary elections?

So what if the elections were free and competitive—unless their agents win, it doesn’t count…

We will only make decisions that serve the Georgian people!” – Chakvetadze wrote on social media.
