The Chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Giorgi Jincharadze, has met internally displaced people from the Russian-occupied Abkhazia region living in the Adjara region, western Georgia, alongside the Minister for Internally Displaced Persons from Abkhazia, Davit Patsatsia, and Batumi Mayor Giorgi Tsintsadze.
At the meeting in Batumi, representatives of the Abkhazia government listened to concerns raised by displaced residents about conditions in their settlements and discussed possible solutions jointly with local authorities.
The discussion was held in a question-and-answer format, allowing displaced persons to raise issues of concern directly with officials.
Jincharadze spoke about access to Abkhazia government programmes, saying that increased funding this year would be directed towards addressing key infrastructure needs in compact settlement areas.
The Abkhazia government said such meetings with displaced communities were held periodically across the country to assess needs and improve support measures.
