The Central Election Commission (CEC) reconvened its summary session following a brief pause caused by an incident in which CEC Chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili was sprayed with a black liquid.

During the session, David Kirtaidze threw the liquid at Kalandarishvili, prompting a temporary halt. Addressing the public after the break, Kalandarishvili apologized for the disruption, emphasizing that the process would continue without delay.

“I want to apologize to the public for stepping out briefly due to the incident. However, this will not hinder the process in any way,” Kalandarishvili said.

He labeled the act a provocation and criticized those disputing the election results for lacking evidence. “This is yet another provocation proving that various parties involved in the elections have no evidence of manipulation. Instead, they rely on personal attacks to cover real issues and allege fraud where none exists,” he stated.
