Giorgi Rukhadze, founder of Georgian Strategic Analysis Centre, has criticized the upcoming inauguration of Mikheil Kavelashvili, describing the event and the president-elect as lacking legitimacy both domestically and internationally.

“The so-called inauguration form indicates that this event and the so-called president will have neither internal nor external legitimacy,” Rukhadze said. He underscored the absence of public and diplomatic support, highlighting the need for heightened security measures.

“The fact that the inauguration process must be confined to one building and requires several thousand special forces to shield the so-called president from the people shows its lack of legitimacy. Moreover, there are no representatives of other countries or ambassadors attending this ceremony. It is evident that the only legitimate president remains Salome Zourabichvili,” he added.
Mikheil Kavelashvili’s inauguration is scheduled for December 29 at the Georgian legislative body.
